Polaroid

img_0580-pola

I refuse to believe this article on CNN about the death and end of Polaroid film. Well … I really refuse to believe that this is “the end.” I knew this day was coming ever since Polaroid decided to stop making film to focus on making digital stuff. I appreciate them wanting to push the technological envelope and further photographic technology, but they really let me , and small but loud internet community, of photographic luddites down.  I have a feeling, and its just a hunch, that analog instant film is not dead by any means. In Japan these instant mini-film cameras are huge. As well, Fuji is rolling out old pull-apart film that was once only manufactured by Polaroid.  We shall see. Until then, if you spy any Polaroid 600 film at your local WalMart or Target stores, and want to be  a dear, keep me in mind. I think Santa has put me on the “Good boy” list this year.

Here is an example of the ol’ pull-apart film from my Polaroid Land Camera. Don’t my parents look nice?

Brian’s 30th Recap

Brian and I - 30th bdayAs promised, here are a few photos from Brian’s birthday party. As part of the fun, I I tried to take a polaroid pic of everyone as they came into the house for the party. Then I had these cool napkin holders from Ikea that I used to hold each pic and lined them along the mantle for everyone to preview throughout the night. You can click here to see all of the polaroid pics. There are more photos to come, but thought this might tide everyone over in the meantime. Thanks again to everyone who came out to celebrate. What a great night and wonderful way to celebrate with Brian on his special day!

Happy Thanksgiving!

turkey day

There is so much to be thankful for in life because we are surrounded by wonderful friends, family and food. Brian and I are so grateful this year for all of our new Atlanta friends and neighbors who challenge us, provide support, encouragement, fun times and lots of laughter. We appreciate you all, especially on a day such as this!

And a special shout out to Dusty, our Thanksgiving buddy who is celebrating with us this weekend!

Happy Birthday Brian!

trienta-logo1

Today Brian turns 30!  I’m sure it’s harder for his parents to believe than him. Either way we’ll be celebrating with a little fiesta ala casa de Manley tonight with friends. Our friend Liz created this “logo” for his party and invite – La Grande Trienta or The Big 30! We’ll be decorating and cleaning all day and couldn’t be more excited to celebrate. Stay tuned for party pictures!

Christmas on the cheap

In this rough and tumble economic time with Christmas approaching rapidly, my friend Roy and I decided to create some Christmas/Holiday postcards.  Postcards, as you know, are cheaper to send to your friends, family and enemies and we think are way cooler than a paper-wasting, earth-murdering cards with envelopes. (just saying)  So … we have the available at Young Blood boutique here in Atlanta or you can check them out at our Etsy store.   Merry Christmas.

When I don’t want to write… show photos

If pictures are worth a thousand words, here are a few thousand that I don’t want to write.

When in Florida…

This past weekend we got out of dodge and went to Orlando for a few days. Suffice it to say that Orlando is way more cool and exotic when you’re A. a kid and B. before you’ve lived in southern California. Either way we relaxed, ate good food and met spiderman and the Simpsons!
